It's hard to imagine any sitting president losing anymore. It's also hard to imagine more than 4 years of Trump. It was hard to imagine two terms of Bush and yet, he was in total control over everything from 2003 to 2007. I am going to go with 2 terms.

Hoping for one term but expecting two terms. The power of incumbency is strong enough to potentially re-elect Trump.

Two terms. The Dems have shown themselves utterly incapable of running even a half way competent campaign.

I think Trump will either resign before his term is up, in which case Pence wins in 2020, or serves for two full terms.  Four years is too soon to expect Dems to dig themselves out of their ditch.

Um no Bush was uber popular till early 2004 and if you did polls in 2002 and 2003 he probably leads by 15-20 points

One term, because (1) many, especially those younger than 40, who voted 3rd party will vote Democrat and (2) it's hard to imagine Trump picking up support from many people who didn't already vote for him in 2016.

He'll be out by 2019 for a few reasons:

-He's the oldest president ever elected to a first term.
-He's clinically overweight with a poor diet.
-He gets very little sleep. This might be a moot point though since I've heard he's always functioned on little sleep so it could just be biological/genetic.
-He has a huge ego and will eventually realize that half the country hates him.
-He recently admitted in a Reuters interview that he loved his previous life.
-He's undertaking the most stressful job in the United States.
-He's not taking the job very seriously given how much he's been golfing compared to past Presidents.
-He has no political experience.
-His public life has been largely defined by scandals and he loves the attention he gets from them and will continue to get into more and more scandals.
-His recent move firing Comey has pissed off many FBI officials and they're already retaliating by leaking information.

3/4 of a term for Trump, Pence has 1 1/4 terms due to early resignation.

Honestly, it is not easy to tell at this point, and four years is an eternity in politics.

The midterm elections will shed some light on Trump's re-election chances, in addition to demonstrating how effective the Democratic Party is as an opposition.

yes this - though it serves as a reminder that Republicans absolutely ate the Democrats lunch in 2010 only to lose in 2012.

One term, because ...

1) He does not run again (best scenario), or
2) He will lose if he runs again.

One term, but only because health, ego, or gross incompetence and misconduct beyond even what the Congress will stand for. I have no faith in the Democrats ability to defeat him as they stand right now.

Almost certainly two terms. He'll have to be a lot more unpopular than this.

Almost certainly two terms. He'll have to be a lot more unpopular than this.

Bear in mind, he has not had to face any major challenges as President, yet. His problems are nearly all self-inflicted. The closest thing he'd had to a real issue was the chemical attacks in Syria, and his chest-thumping response was successful from a PR perspective, mainly because he has competent underlings in the military field and didn't stick his foot in it.

I am skeptical that he can effectively handle a problematic economy, a war, or a major disaster.

There is so much delusion in this thread. Trump is not leaving early unless he is actually removed involuntarily, and he will certainly not be impeached by his own party no matter what.

The odds are 50/50 and any predictions are wishful thinking by either side.

The election will be determined by factors that are not known yet:

- The Democratic nominee and the unity of Democrats in general
- The economic situation in the fall of 2020
- Trump's popularity (unlikely that he picks up much more support, but who knows?).
- Foreign or domestic crisis (terrorist attack etc.)
- Outcome of Russiagate and potential future scandals
- Campaign performance (gaffes etc.)
- Voter turnout and mobilization
