The United Liberty Caucus is intended as a cross party, libertarian leaning organization. I myself barely lean libertarian, but I still think this ULC is something that needs to be made. Let a big tent of libertarian-leaning individuals stand and hold the tent up together.

From left-libertarians, who stand and focus on social liberties and lean more towards economic centrism, to right-libertarians, who stand focus on economic liberties and lean more towards social centrism, and every type of libertarian in between, we need to stand together and call with one voice! We need to be the voice that declares security a tyrant and protection a slaver.

There are those who claim to stand for minorities. This party is for those who stand not just for the smallest minority, but those who stand for the liberties of the smallest minority - the individual. The rights, freedoms, and liberties of man may well be lost in the name of security and protection. Let us join together and write a platform that manages to stand to any extreme for liberty, yet leaves out no man who will fight for social or economic liberty, assuming they compromise not the other.

We will never surrender this country or this people to the false song of Security and Protection. It a tempting song which many fall for, but this false song's notes are not in harmony with Liberty and Freedom. For too long, men who sacrifice liberties and freedoms for securities and protections have governed this land.

If we fail to unite for Liberty, then a hundred years from now none will hear our cause. For we speak of rights, freedom, and liberty, and if we fail, then this true song of Liberty and Freedom will ring no more. So we must fight for the highest mountaintop and for the lowest valley. We must fight for the liberties and freedoms of the most despised, for what then will we tell our descendants if we live? That we were not Nazis, so when their speech was silenced, we did not stand? That we were not communists, so when their speech was silenced, we did not stand? Slowly but surely the worst will be taken out. This will be the beginning of the loss of liberties. In the name of security and stability, all will be silenced.

So let us now unite. If you believe these current ways of security and stability have no fault, then stand quiet. But if you see what I see, if you feel what I feel, that this is not right and this is not just, then I ask you to join me. Without others, the words of liberties and freedoms are just platitudes. But with a platform, we will show what we stand for. My fellow lovers of liberty, your help is needed.

I'm not sure which is more annoying: people who are 95% libertarian but call themselves "conservative" and therefore vote straight-ticket Republican, or (what might be an Atlas phenomenon) moderates calling themselves "libertarian" because they are ever so slightly in the libertarian political matrix quadrant, even though they in no way come close to the actual ideology Tongue

Anyway, as a moderate-libertarian-whatever this would actually probably be a good fit for me, despite most of this being worded in weird ways. I may join, I may not. I'll wait and see I guess.

No. A caucus independent of political parties.

Sweetiepie, you don't destroy decaying roadkill. You can only push it off the side of the road so no one will have to look at it.

I accept the nomination. Although I am not sitting in a chair right now, I will make sure to consider the voices of all members of the caucus, no matter what their individual views are.

That we were not Nazis, so when their speech was silenced, we did not stand?

that's not how the poem goes, exactly
