Kind of weird question, but a few years ago, the hosts of Top Gear had to leave Argentina after some "Falklands are Argentinian" activists incited a riot to drive them out of Ushuaia. I had no idea that the whole Falklands issue was something people still like to litigate, given how much of the original war was just a "wag the dog" situation to try to distract from the unrest against the junta. How much are the Falklands still an issue in Argentina? Is it just something random ultra-nationalists get worked up about, or is it more mainstream, and still seen as a real possibility that they might one day return to Argentina?
A lot of people get very emotional over the Falklands and a lot of mainstream (especially kirchnerista) politicians use it as an occasional cry. Most people don't think the islands will become part of Argentina, but there's a lot of pressure on the "symbolic claim".
