Imagine the novelty. He's been in Congress for 22 years in a historically Republican area and this is probably his first competitive election since his first unsuccessful primary for Congress. The anti-Bush tsunami never touched him. Now he's being yelled at, his phones jammed, and his voters are rising up against him because of a President who is so alien to why Frelinghuysen became a Republican. No wonder he's cracking.
