If Karen Handel loses to Jon Ossoff, does she run for office again?

If she loses narrowly, she will surely be tempted to run for GA-6 again in a better environment.

Of course. She's an office shopper and will end up as the Martha Coakley of Georgia.

I do not know, but I do think if Ossof loses he will run for something again.

It wouldn't be a smart decision by GA Republicans, but politicians have made dumb decisions before.

The GOP would simply gerrymander GA-06.

I think the GA GOP is pushing it they better off forfeiting a district otherwise they end up in court because 7,12, and 1 can be considered cracking at this point. Then they would have to forfeit 2 or 3 districts for being greedy.

That's a good point. Gwinnett is a ticking time bomb for the GOP and they would be better off conceding a fourth Dem district in Atlanta for the future.

Yeah, Clinton won the county with the majority of the vote, and Isakson won only a plurality, plus Gwinnett County is growing larger and more diverse by the year.

Hmm? Nah.

GA-02 is underpopulated by 100k votes by recent estimates. The correct answer is to shove that district north into GA-13 and move GA-13 and GA-04 north.

It's not like the GOP has a thin bench in Georgia. She's had her chances.

Yes, and if Ossoff wins, which is a yuge if at this point, I already got the perfect song for it, The Devil Went Down to Georgia.

Probably not. I think this is her last hurrah if she loses because this is a pretty Republican district in the grand scheme of things and a loss to a Democrat would be kind of embarrassing. I think you can handle losses in GOP primaries in a state like Georgia because, well, they're crowded and some of her primary losses can be easily explained (like when she ran for Senate and did pretty well despite raising almost no money).

I am pretty sure she will keep on running. She seems to really enjoy losing elections, and you have just got to follow your passions sometimes. She was literally BORN in Washington DC, so she is not going to stop until she gets back there.

Ossoff on the other hand could run again if he loses, although given the expectations game he may have to wait until GA/this district gets more Democratic.
