Pure speculation/just a thought: Assuming for a moment that Trump really gets impeached by the year's end or sometime next year; how would President Pence handle the aftermath? Would he distance himself from Trump? Would be appoint many new cabinet members? Is even a pardon possible?

Thoughts?

I think he would try to avoid the whole thing as much as possible and just say that "America must look forward". He would be more effective to implement the GOP agenda and change some cabinet members. Nikki Haley or John Thune would be appointed vice president (or Mitt Romney as a wildcard). I have no idea about a pardon. Pence is clever enough to know that this would cost him a lot of popularity. And why should he care what happens to Trump? But I'm pretty sure he would reorganize the WH and staff substantially; Bannon and the Trump-family would be gone anyway.

Get used to hearing this. You will hear it every second of every day of the next two elections. Pence will probably get it tattooed to his forehead. The GOP is going to do everything to make us forget that trump ever happened.

We'd basically have a more evangelical Mitt Romney administration

Well first off Pence would undoubtably get murdered in the midterm an on top of that he isn't clean here remember he was head of transition so the Flynn story implicates him too so we would be looking at another Ford like administration

If they can take back congress two years after Bush (who served a full two terms) left office then they can move past a year of a Trump presidency.

It's perfectly clear to me (but not to Torie, apparently) that the ultimate Democratic game plan is to install President Pelosi in 2019.  And the party of stupid would be dumb enough to give them what they want.
