I don't get it, when many strong conservatives call for death for child molesters and protesters but sexually harassing and raping women is a-ok and they're good men whose lives should be ruined. Roll Eyes

The man was a serial sexual harasser. Just because you agree with his politics you think he's an FF?

Also we need to defend western (read: white) women from the raping immigrant hordes.

Hope he's taking satan's pitchfork where the sun doesn't shine in hell.

Good at politics, horrible as a human being. Can't really muster more than neutrality here. Sexual harassment is nothing to laud.

Awful, awful person. I won't say good riddance, but his brand of media and his sexual harassment harmed many, many people.

Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, I'd like to point out something. If a prominent figure with great influence on both media and politics, who had been instrumental in getting (a) Clinton elected suddenly died. Especially if the death came immediately after the appointment of a special counsel to investigate said Clinton, there would be more Republicans screaming conspiracy theories from the far corners of the internet to mainstream news than there are stars in the sky.

Something to remember the next time anyone claims the two parties are equal.

Hilarious that Drudge and not Fox broke the story

It's like these isolated dictatorships where their leader dies and they try to keep it a secret for days or weeks (except in this case everyone already knows.)

If Fox wanted to pay tribute to Ailes' legacy they should run a story asserting he is alive and, in fact, found the Fountain of Youth in Palm Beach.

The Fountain is actually in Saint Augustine. It's rather tacky.

Reports say Ailes died soon after attempting to feed several Democratic operatives to the Sarlacc at the Great Pit of Carkoon.

I'm not going to play Moderate Hero over the death of somebody who is arguably more responsible than anybody else for the breakdown of journalism, the toxicity of the current political climate and the destruction of reasoned partisan discussion. I hope he suffered as much as humanly possible before he died - and even if, it wouldn't be enough to atone for what he did (and that's without even touching his personal life). Good riddance.

I find it distasteful to grave-dance on Roger Ailes. He was certainly a controversial figure, and he left his mark on American journalism and politics. He was certainly an effective person. RIP to him and best wishes to his family.

You hear it a lot in the really weak sentences for young, white rapists.

I don't feel any sympathy or any feelings for that matter towards Roger Ailes.

Relevant to Roger Ailes as a journalistic figure:

Say what you want about tabloid sleaze; nobody pretends that the contents of National Enquirer and its ilk are anything other than entertainment. People know enough to not cite that junk. FoX Propaganda Channel has always been deadly serious if politically amoral.
