Fake polls! Remember how much Trump loved spamming Twitter with the primary polls that had him ahead? I remember a few months ago as well Trump posted a random lulzmussen poll that had him in positive numbers. Being so hated so early must be devastating for such a egotistical narcissist.

I still think it's too early to use approval ratings to predict 2018. A year and a half is an eternity in politics. History tells us that the party out of power makes inroads and low approval ratings cost seats, but the magnitude is still up in the air.

We have examples of presidents down in the dumps coming back. In 1982, nobody thought reagan would be re-elected, and even Obama in 2011 was looking vulnerable.

Trump, of course, has unique issues. But there is a lot going on in this world. If something happens in korea, it could be a big factor.

This is true, and can work the other way as well.  In early 1991, after the conclusion of Desert Storm, GHW Bush's approval was close to 90%.  If anyone had suggested that he'd lose handily the following autumn, they'd have been laughed out of town.

In late 1994 and early 1995 right after the devastating 1994 midterm election Rush Limbaugh had gleefully started his daily countdown clock to count the days until Bill Clinton would be swept out of office. Rush's shows would start with stating how many day's we're left in Bill Clinton's presidency. In 2011, Democrats could point to Clinton having a big comeback in 1995-1996, but Clinton had no recent precedent to point to.

A investigation led by Joe Arpaio and Sarah Palin has found out that Gallup is cooking the books and inverting the numbers. Trump's actual approval is 60%. Sad!

He was unable to change his mind.

We are so lucky that the Orange Clown is too much of a bumbling idiot to win anyone over. Back in 2003 during the House vote on Medicaid Part D expansion, the bill was losing at around midnight. Tom 'The Hammer' Delay and GOP leaders literally kept voting open until dawn to bully the no's and have them change their votes to pass the bill.

After Trump's response to Charlottesville, I predict that he'll go below 35% in Gallup sometime in the coming week.

I dunno...depends on what portion of that 35% supports the Neo-nazis.

There aren't more than about 10K members of Klan groups and 10K members of neo-Nazi groups, with some significant overlaps.

I don't know if there would be a lot of crossover between the KKK and Neo Nazi groups. The South has the most KKK members and the South is the most hawkish nationalistic part of the country.  I would bet a lot of KKK members have a grandfather who fought in WW2 against the Nazis. That chest thumping militarism would not be very supportive of one of America's enemies.
