Pledging a “systemwide refresh” at the nation’s largest and most storied civil rights group to confront President Trump more vigorously,

Jonathan Jackson, Ilyasah Shabazz, Martin Luther King III, Bernice King, and Marc Morial would all be good dynasty nominees.

The NAACP would be smart to google "living civil rights leaders", I agree.

No one related to Malcolm X should ever lead a civil rights organization. His legacy of being an antisemite will stain his image forever.

No, not really.  Believe it or not, people are complicated and sometimes great leaders have serious flaws.  Shocking, I know.  Of course, IIRC, Malcolm X wasn't even anti-Semitic after he broke with the Nation of Islam (although I could be misremembering).  Either way, despite having some bad views, that man was one of the greatest civil rights leaders in American history.
