Somebody I know close to Orman says he will probably run.
As a Democrat or as an Independent.
I believe he's been promoting pro-independent/centrist causes recently, so I'm guessing independent.

So he'll run as the centrist option to such hard-line leftists like Josh Svaty or Carl Brewer, and probably help to elect a borderline fascist like Kris Kobach. Solid choice.

Endorsed! Greg Orman, Paul Davis, Troy Findley, or Mark Parkinson would make a good running mate.

Uh, Mark Parkinson is a former Governor who has shown no interest in running for office ever again, let alone for a lower profile one. Troy Findley is similarly retired and done from politics, and doesn't really offer anything that another candidate wouldn't. Paul Davis is running for KS-2, and should at least give Republicans a run for their money there. Orman, I don't know.

FWIW, I think Svaty would be wise to try and convince Brewer to be his LG. Brewer doesn't really seem that electable in his own right, but with him on the ticket, Svaty could probably carry Sedgwick County (which is probably a requirement for a Democrat to win statewide now).

Vice Presidents don't make a geographic impact, so I severely doubt Lieutenant Governors do.

As a dem or Ind?

As an independent. The guy who says it's likely was Orman's 2014 campaign attorney. If anybody knows it would be this guy. Do remember though, that Orman commissioned a poll against Moran and then didn't run in 2016. We'll see how this unfolds, but I think Orman running hands this to the GOP.

ugh what a douche. I could not stand him during the 2014 campaign with his awful platitude campaign. What a selfish prick if he decides to go through with it.

Svaty is good because of his pro-life stance but I still like Republican potentials Kevin Yoder and Kris Kobach better. It'll be interesting to see what happens as this is the first time there will be a Democratic primary for governor in Kansas since '98 when Westboro Baptist Church leader Fred Phelps ran.

I believe I called Svaty last year, or maybe even the year before that, before I saw anyone else bring him up. He is, upon further research, far, far more charismatic than either Brewer or Orman.

In fairness you probably called everyone who comes up if you google "KS Democrats"

Svaty will have a good shot, it'll be tossup if he's the nominee, lean R otherwise.  But if Orman runs as a Centrist Independent its lean I.
