President Trump received the royal treatment Saturday when he was bestowed with Saudi Arabia’s highest civilian honor. During a ceremony at the grand Saudi Royal Court, King Salman awarded Trump the gilded Collar of Abdulaziz al Saud. Trump was honored for “his quest to enhance security and peace … in the region and the world,” a speaker at the ceremony said.

Trump, surrounded by Saudi officials, bops back and forth with a smile on his face, while White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, chief of staff Reince Priebus and chief economic adviser Gary Cohn appear more reserved in their moves. Video of the dance from Host TV shows Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross dancing with swords perched on their shoulders as part of a line of men in traditional Saudi garb.

President Trump made a splashy debut on the world stage here Saturday, ushering in a new era in U.S.-Saudi Arabian relations by signing a joint “strategic vision” that includes $110 billion in American arms sales and other new investments that the administration said would bring hundreds of thousands of jobs. “It was a great day,” Trump said. He cited “tremendous investments in the United States . . . and jobs, jobs, jobs.”

The agreements signed included a letter of intent to “support Saudi Arabia’s defense needs” with sales of — naval ships, tanks and other vehicles — as well as some new items such as sophisticated THAAD missile defense systems. Other items are intended to modernize Saudi Arabia’s cyberdefense and airborne intelligence-gathering, and secure its borders. Jubeir also praised ExxonMobil, the energy behemoth that Tillerson ran until retiring to join the administration, as “the largest investor” in Saudi Arabia.

Don't be ridiculous. It's only a problem when Hillary or Dems in general do it.

Donald's sword dance was a bit like Jennifer's pole dance.  Not really feeling it.

Wasted opportunity.

Heard he held an average speech to the assembled Muzlim! leaders, which by Trump's standards probably counts as near great.

Saudis: "THE POWER OF THE ORB COMPELS YOU! ALL MUST BOW BEFORE THE ORB!"
Trump: "THE ORB REPLENISHES MY LIFE BATTERY!"

Big Don in Saudi with a legendary speech - This is not about different faiths, we have to wipe out terrorists, this is about good vs evil (Goodbye Radical Islam, Muslim ban, etc lol).

Sadly, no support from Soros supported liberals who peddle fake news but don't support Big Don killin' it in Saudi - Way to go Big Don !

It was a pretty good speech, and it felt very much like what we'd expect from a normal Republican President. Minus the couple of ranty bits that seemed over the top, and will probably be used by Al Qaeda, ISIS, etc for propaganda.

Of course it was all massively hypocritical, both for Trump in particular and the President of the US in general. But that sort of thing is sadly par for the course.

It may be overseen by the World Bank, but is unquestionably ivanka's baby. Hey, I have no problem with the donation per se, however the way Republicans would have reacted if the same type of donation had gone to the Clinton Foundation which had all the same NGO non self-dealing qualifications at least comma would have been like a new apocalypse was planning on us. Fox News of course would have gone into continuous rotation and Congressional hearings what if started within a week. This however is completely absolutely not unlike that it also nothing to see here.

1) Ivanka seems only "face" of the fund, she is not in charge as Bill was.
2) Clintons were criticized for the lack of transparency. NOT for HAVING a foundation.
3) Yes, Republicans were exaggerating and exploiting it.

The inherent problem with "good vs. evil" rethoric is that this isn't The Lord of the Rings or Star Wars. This is the real world. So, while it may resonate emotionally with listeners of the speech, it doesn't really address any of the problems at hand.

Donald Trump sees the United States as the good guys, while ISIS is evil. Well, ISIS sees itself as the good guys, while the United States is evil. So, if we want to delve deeper into adressing the problem of Islamic terrorism, we have to answer the question: How does it come that individual people start to see ISIS as the force for good and how do we prevent as many individual people as possible to come to see it that way?

No, it was not a normal speech. I am usually supportive of Trump, but I feel he was duped into repeating Saudi talking points which blame the entire region's problems on Iran. All it cost the Saudis was a couple of public "wins" for Trump like buying weapons they would've bought anyway and pledging money to Ivanka's foundation which will stay in the Gulf. A traditional Republican President would not have been to unabashedly one-sided, and they probably would've visited Mexico, Canada, or the UK as their first international trip. Yes, Obama's stance on Iran was terrible, but there has to be some middle ground between enabling Iran's dangerous behavior and being a Saudi shill.

Iran is one of the world's most enduring and respected civilizations with an educated, civil population. It happens to be ruled by an oppressive theocracy but even then, it is a far better place to be a woman than most Gulf states. They also express their culture in ways other than shopping malls and fast food chicken. It presents more promise to the West than Egypt, the Gulf states, and perhaps even Turkey, although it might be fool's gold. In any case, it's not our place to be putting our finger on the scale in the Sunni/Shia dispute like Trump is doing.
