Best scenario would be her announcing now that she will retire at the beginning of the next Congress.

I presently live in CA12 she's not going anywhere, because Dems got plenty of ground, still in Latino friendly territory to make up to make her Speaker again in CA, NY, NJ, FL and TX.

She'll be minority leader until she dies.

The ramifications of GA 06, just says that there isn't a wave yet.  But, remember Dems are gonna sweep VA and NJ in the Fall and plenty of Govs in 2018 in districts where the swing districts are like VA 10, its not over, until Nov 2018.

Roll Call: Crowley/Sanchez/Jeffries/Lujan most likely.

I'd put my money on Crowley. Though I'm a big supporter of Ryan.

If you can find a way to oust The Wicked Witch of The West i'd say Tim Ryan would be a good pick for successor.

Lujan would be excellent, and I don't just say that because of regional bias. The Democrats desperately need to shake the California/New York insider image.

The bad thing about all this is Steny Hoyer might sneak in. Pelosi for all her faults is better than Hoyer or Clyburn (way too moderate) who will have Black Caucus with him !

Hoyer and Clyburn "way too moderate"? Interesting. Few years ago i thought that "tea party" exist in Republican party only. Probably - i was wrong...

That would be called failing upwards for the DCCC chair to get promoted after blowing so much money on GA-06.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the DCCC.

Imagine the confusion with two Ryans leading in the House.

This just made me more supportive of Tim Ryan. A "[Democratic candidate] supports Ryan's agenda" ad would confuse many low-info voters.

Yeah but Ryan's agenda is so unpopular it might actually be an effective attack.

I think a black or Latino Minority Leader would be an interesting change of pace. But I also would like a non-"coastal" Minority Leader. So Lujan, I suppose.

Ben Ray Lujan, Linda Sanchez, Joe Crowley, and Cheri Bustos all come to mind.

3/4 isn't bad, and, in my pre-post draft, I had listed Jeffries.

Somebody from the midwest. Preferably someone outside the mainstream.

I think Mark Pocan would square the circle. Midwestern. Down-to-earth. Gay. I think he could appeal to the middle and also rake in $$ from the coasts...

As a guy from WI-02 who is glad that my guy is actually getting mentioned I second this for the reasons that you mentioned. Although he was just elected in 2012 so I'm wondering if experience could be an issue.

Hoyer is even older than Pelosi, and Clyburn is just a bit younger. We don't need these walking corpses running the party.

By 2018, Pelosi will be pushing 80 years old.

She has got to go. She just cant deal with the problems and challenges facing America today...were in a whole new era that she's unequipped to deal with due to a bastard Republican Party with bloodlust for destroying the welfare state and liberals. She still thinks its the 80s and Howard Baker is gonna come out of the woodwork and make a deal with her

I like Pelosi because she's effective and good at her job. What exactly makes Tim Ryan so qualified for the job?

I dont think pelosi is mentally stable. She refer to trump as president bush MORE THEN ONCE A NUMBER OF TIMES I MIGHT ADD.
