Unlike these pricks, some of us have obligations to our families to be photographed holding an empty diploma folder.

EDIT: For the record, I don't understand the point of commencement speakers and assumed it was simply we were assigned to suffer through, much like the rest of the ceremony. It matters little what varieties of fanaticism they embrace, their mere presence already implies their support of student torture.

Baby boomer tradition of making children feel important.

it's gotten out of hand.  Yes, children are people, but they ain't "special" people...just little and slightly more ignorant than the rest of us.  They ain't important, I don't know why we thought it was a good idea to let them find that out all on their own when they're 24.  AND gave them as little experience at failure in the mean time so they have no idea how to handle the bombshell.  It's no wonder so many think it's totally cool to scream at people they don't agree with until they get their way.

A bunch of kids who prolly reek of weed and who get asked, "Are you Indian? Native American? No wait...Asian?"

Your comment reeks of bigotry.
I hope you are proud of yourself.

The postwar dream betrayed by its own excesses, no doubt. Only thing worse is valedictorian speeches--mine was needlessly optimistic, likely a product of her own independent student success story. Self-gratification through manufactured individuation is a disease.

Walking out is a perfectly fine reaction to a public speaker you find objectionable. Always has been.

WTF? Are you trying to insult people on the basis that they don't immediately look like lily-white Anglo-Saxons, or whatever race you favor? Are you trivializing the struggles of what actual Native Americans, Asians, and Indians (of both sorts) face? You've said a lot of things on this forum, but this racist trite marks a new low for you.

As for the protesters - congrats for exercising your First Amendment rights and standing up for what you believe in. Don't let trolls like Reaganfan or Tomi Lahren put you down.

You have to realize Naso is ginger and thus has no soul so it's not entirely unexpected.

Kind of stupid. Pence hasn't said anything racist, egregious (wasn't gay electrocution therapy years ago?), or the sort. He's also fairly standard as a Republican vice president.

This is a bit snowflakey.

No, those were things he supported as Governor.  If you're going to insult people as snowflakes, you should at least make sure you're facts are in order.

I have no problem with this. It's much better (and more effective) than shouting him down or booing him.

Obama and Biden's addresses at Notre Dame were protested by anti-abortion activists and literally none of these conservatives crying "SNOWFLAKE" batted an eye.

Wish the Vatican would crack down on these fake-Catholic Jesuit schools that tolerate such open disdain for Catholic teachings.

Notre Dame isn't Jesuit.

Of course. Conservatives only complain about "safe spaces" and cry for "free speech" when it's convenient for them.

He is just jealous and angry knowing that people who are not "white," go to universities and acquire degrees in the USA. Typical comments coming from white nationalist bigots.

See my reasoning. I don't just think that his RFRA stuff was a huge deal as much as people make it out to be. Stupid, yes, huge deal, no.

Gay rights are important, but put it in perspective, again, nobody is challenging them fundamentally. Stupid red states like Texas doing the transgender bills are going to find them summarily repealed. It's just a losing battle all around.

Mike Pence started his career by campaigning on the idea of revoking funding for AIDS research and instead using the money for curing homosexuality. F**k him forever.
