If Congress does not act, then any future obstruction charge placed against a president cannot stand. If/when there comes a time where a sitting Democratic president is guilty of similar charges, Congress cannot act on it if they do not do anything to Trump now.

*sigh*

Next it will be:
Paul Ryan: "Reporters are saying Trump tried to obstruct justice? That's laughable."
then
BREAKING NEWS: "Trump called Paul Ryan, asked for ideas on how to stop FBI investigations"

This seems to be the nail in the coffin.

We have a long way to go before that. Never underestimate the political cowardice of Congress.

Come my fellow Republicans! Remember how outraged we were over Hillary doing some s*** at Benghazi? And all those emails that for some reason were an issue? It was impeachable stuff!! We said so a million times now, let's get out there and March in the streets against Trump!!! Come Republicans! We would never ever ever hold a double standard 4 thinking crookedhillary over that type of stuff but thinking this type of stuff Trump does is perfectly OK. We would never ever be willing to turn a blind eye and be complete and utter Hypocrites because what we really care about is packing the Judiciary, repealing the top tax rates, and getting rid of Obamacare, right? We would never ever be willing to look the other way if he curb-stomped a baby in Time Square, right!

"Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Comey revealed its existence"

Ha, good luck with that. Trump should have asked EnglishPete and Chairman Sanchez instead. Moron.

At this point, if these stories are true, this is definitely obstruction of justice. The precedent if nothing happens will be devastating for the rule of law.

How exactly is this obstruction of justice? As has been confirmed many times no one has so far found any evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the election. If Trump had been asking these people to say something that was untrue you could argue that that was untrue. Trump is literally the CEO of the executive branch of the US government. How exactly is it obstruction for him to ask two of his subordinates to make a true statement in public?

Are you serious or joking? It's hard to tell anymore.

Anyway, they aren't his subordinates and he's not the "CEO" of the country because this is not (yet) a fascist country.
