Yes and that's not exactly a good thing for Gianforte because early votes tend to lean pretty heavily Democratic.

It'll be stupidly close, but I think this news broke too late to swing the race. I think Gianforte still wins (but will be unusually vulnerable in the 2018 race because of this...this will be great ad material against him for YEARS).

With Montana's Republican lean and the greater level of Republican spending, I think Gianforte will still win by a couple points. However, the fact that there's audio of the incident and that the Fox News reporters corroborated the reporter's story could be enough to narrowly swing the election to Quist. I'd move the race from "Lean R" to "Tilt R."

Given the disturbing and almost schizophrenic hatred of free press in this country, and compulsive obsession with being as unnecessarily violent as possible, I think this if anything will shift the race even more in Republican favor. Whatever Gianforte's margin was, it'll probably be double now.

Sticking with Gianforte, as if the GOP voter cares about all this - The freaking President kept making racist, sexist & despicable attacks & bragged about sexually assaulting women.

Look how that turned out! I doubt it hurts Gianforte too much, this is the guy who believes Dinosaurs walked in Noah's ark or something & retirement is against the Bible ! His voters will be perfectly okay with all this !
