God and these people still wonder why Hillary lost. Mark Zuckerberg has literally no appeal to average Americans.

Excuse you, he rode on a tractor, that makes him an American hero.

No, but seriously, Zuckerburg needs to go back to the decrepit monster hole he was bred from, and stay there until someone sues Facebook.

What Zuckerberg fans don't get is that Trump has populist appeal. Trump talks like a regular guy and he loves pro-wrestling and fast food. Trump also comes across like the kind of rich guy most people would want to emulate. If you talk to your Average Joe and ask him what he would do if he were rich he would probably say that he would buy a gold toilet and date supermodels decades younger than him. On the other hand Zuckerberg comes across as an arrogant nerd.

Zuckerberg has little appeal outside of technocratic liberal circles.

He's already running. Why do we have to encourage him?

I can't see a Zuckerberg run being good for Facebook's business prospects.

I'll support him if he runs as a centrist pro-business Democrat/Independent. Zuckerberg 2020!

Old conservatives leave because the CEO is a lib, young leftists leave because they see Zuckerberg as a corporate obstacle to candidates like Sanders or Warren (Or the Zuckerberg 2020 run finally cements Facebook as being uncool)

That is my biggest reason for hoping he runs at this point. But the pessimistic part of me suggests that the monopolistic tendencies of social media platform is far too entrenched. Just look at the fate of Imzy.

Exactly. Trump actually had a strategy to appeal to key sections of the electorate. It's hard to imagine Zuckerberg managing anything of the sort.

He'd in all likelihood run as a Democrat. Going the independent route would be pointless, assuming victory is what he's really after. People with far more charisma, talent, and mass appeal have tried and failed. I don't see Republicans embracing him. A lot of what he's done runs directly contrary to where they're currently at, e.g. he defended BLM last year. Additionally, many in Trump's base probably think he's a globalist cuck and everything, so there's that. If he does run, I don't see any option but Democrat.

That said, I really hope he doesn't run.

I think that Trump could win a popular and electoral landslide against the man who's sells personal data to the NSA. Literally no one on both sides like him. The right hates him because he's a billionaire who preaches about left-wing ideas, while the left hates him because he's a billionaire corporatist. He'd garner little to no support, and even if he got the nomination, he'd crash and burn in the general.
