Oh boy. He probably feels that the official White House telephone is "wiretapped".

There is a "presidential" cellphone that is second to none. I recall Ernest posting this in like 2012 when I tried to complain about Obama doing the same thing. Feel free to correct me with I'm wrong, Trump gets criticized for too many things for me to both to care about.

Remember, this is the person who criticized Hillary Clinton as being lax with security.

You don't know that the President's cell phone is not secure. You've just conjectured it. Unlike the emails that were missing from Clinton's server, in what Comey described as a "grossly negligent act" or whatever.

Yeah, cell towers are very secure. They're known for that.

Who said the President's cell phone works through a cell tower? It could go to a secure satellite. We don't know if this is Trump's personal phone from 2015. Conjecture is the word of the day in this thread.

The President should be making calls on a wired, secure connected. Any wireless calls could be breached, even on a secure cell phone line.

Encryption can make wireless very secure. Of course I wouldn't expect someone who supported a candidate in a Presidential primary who wanted to backdoor all encryption to understand that.

They mean the same thing in practical parlance. Who bothers to make the distinction? Cell phone means mobile phone in the context of our language.

I would expect a Sanders supporter to throw up a defense for Trump. Encryption exists, but a wired connection is still safer than a wireless one and protocol is for the President to use wired connections for the type of calls Trump is talking about making.

A wired connection can be bugged too. I wouldn't make that case.

No doubt that a "cellphone" is less secure than the million-dollar phone system I'm sure exists in the White House.
Trump is just an idiot, and half the things he says and suggests, he just doesn't understand as proper presidential protocol (OK, OK .... it's probably more than "half").

They easily spent at least a million on Obama's cellphone. And yes, it had encryption.

The only world leader that trump will hear from is Duterte.
All the others are giving him the middle finger.

Wasn't he all impressed and excited by the phone system in the White House when he first got there? Now, not even six months later, he must find the system tiring/takes too long. <sar>Stamina.</sar>

Late night when they need his love?

Tbh this is a little improper but they secure his cell when elected with top encryption or just give him a new SS provided one.
