On principle I kind of think these things are silly, but I don't see why dueling should not be legal, in this context.  I suppose this has my support.

I don't see why people shouldn't be able to do this, especially considering that nobody is actually going to get injured. Tongue

Pretty much. I wouldn't ever do this, but if other people want to then that's their business.

This will probably lead to a lot of freak outs and drama, but maybe that's a good thing.  Tongue  Maybe it would be better if there's a clause that says the duelers can also agree on different stakes as long as it's not deregistering for longer than 2 months.  Unless everyone who wants this is set on having it this way?

What are some other options for different stakes?

We've historically had something like this - it's rarely been used, but it was fun when it was and didn't cause any major problems.

Signatures, avatars, endorsements, party registration.  I don't know.  I'm sure people could be creative.

This seems kind of...pointless? Yeah, it might be fun and might alleviate some of the drama that permeates our political discourse, but if this type of thing has been rarely used historically, why waste the time debating this? It just feels unnecessary when there are more pressing issues to discuss.

i mean i guess if you both took a video and there was some way to guarantee it was fair and unaltered it could count as an "online game." though traditionally the challenged party is allowed to pick the weapons.
