How about another President Nixon? I mean, of course, former Governor Jay Nixon (D-MO).

The dude is probably too moderate for a Democratic primary unless the field is very crowded. But I think he has some appeal to the white working class and would be strongly competitive in the Rust Belt (MO would almost certainly not flip anyway). Nevertheless, if he is on the ticket, I consider the VP slot more of a realistic option. He would make a good addition to nominees like Harris, Warren, Booker or Klobuchar.

I doubt that Nixon actually has national ambistions. If he's on the ticket, then as running mate of a candidate from the progressive wing of the party.
