The 2013 George Washington Bridge lane closure story is revealed weeks later in late-September 2013, while Chris Christie is leading state Senator Barbara Buono by double digits. How does it affect the election?

Christie/Guagdano 47%
Buono/Silva 46%

Buono wasn't a very strong candidate. On the other hand, Democrats might actually get majorities large enough to make impeachment feasible.

Christie/Guadagno - 48%
Buono/Silva - 45%

Buono was weak, and made herself look like a fool during the debates.

I'd say this would also cause him to not run for President in 2016 and count him out of any consideration for a cabinet role.
