Farage says he will have absolutely no choice but to reenter politics if Corbyn wins.

The Tories are gonna have an even longer and more somber night than they could have imagined...

Yeah, they're getting crushed in London if that Battersea swing holds elsewhere.

Probably a stupid question, but why exactly is there such a large swing to CON in Scotland? Labour is underperforming in many SNP-held seats, it seems.

I am certainly no expert on this, so someone who actually knows something about Scottish politics can correct me if I am wrong... But I think maybe a lot of the usual CON voters in Scotland (what few there are) went SNP last time in 2015, and now have switched back.
What about Wales? What's going on there?

How dare someone attempt to replace fearful ethnonationalism with hopeful class politics?  Not if Nigel can help it!

Tories gain banff and buchan from snp

best result for tories in scotland since 1992

If the Tories perform as well as predicted in Scotland then I'm sure Ruth Davidson will at least consider standing on a safe seat on the likely autumn election. There may be some pressure on her to do so, in fact.

According to BBC their exit poll is currently only off by 2 - overestimating LAB by 1 and underestimating CON by 1 from current results.

Just saw that. It appears the exit poll is going to be very close if the first 50 results or so are in line with the upcoming results.

Which of course just builds the drama for the coming days.

This seems to be like the past US election:

Republicans (Trump) started to move towards more Rust Belt-type regions in the North, ceding support in the South (Arizona, Georgia, and Texas).

The real realignment this election may be conservatives gaining Scottish unionists and young people finally turning out for labor for real.

Farage should reenter politics, even if he is too right-wing, it is good to hear different opinions.
