Jeremy Corbyn now favorite of becoming PM on Betfair!!!

What? Seriously?

Is Labour overperforming that well right now?
I don't think that there is anyway that Labor will be able to win that big of a majority, but I think it is possible that Corbyn will continue to over perform.

What is propelling Labour right now? I'm guessing it's a combination of working class voters and young people?

Is the "WOW" because the Tories held it or because there was a huge CON->LAB swing anyway? It's not showing up on the NYT map yet.

The former is my understanding. It's generally a more Conservative seat.

So what are our takeaways from this?

Mine are:

1. Hubris is still as powerful a force in human affairs as ever.
2. Muh fundamentals are overrated. Campaigns matter.

3. Directly stating left-wing values is more effective than standing for some vague reasonableness.

3a. It is in fact possible to win back working-class voters who've flirted with right-wing populism by doing so.

In Britain, sure. Working-class voters have historically been much stronger for Labour than they've been for U.S. Democrats, so let's not act like this is directly comparable to America.

Sounds like a reason to get working on building that solidarity, but okay.

My point is that it's easier to win back voters who probably voted for you two years ago than ones who haven't in decades like in the U.S. Plus, British voters are way more elastic, and that's for a number of reasons.

Seems that way. The dynamic being discussed with the former is voters who defected from Labour to UKIP in 2010 and 2015 returning home rather than going to the Tories.

Young people actually turned out like the polls said they would.

The Grauniad has a better map for proportion, but it's slow as molasses.

BBC swingometer showing a >1% swing towards Labour overall, with 9 seats flipping CON to LAB.

It's also quite late in Germany.

At the moment it fluctuated back to Theresa again, but remember also that she is not likely to remain PM even with a Tory government.

We need to target the 6.7-9.2 million Trump voters who voted for Obama in 2012. Many of them were working class whites especially in the Midwest. (Source)

Since we're seeing a decent portion of 2015 UKIP voters to Labour, is Clacton a possible pick-up?
