He's a socialist. Socialists don't really take care of themselves or their homes.

It's awfully strange that the pacifist socialist was able to win back UKIP voters.
Not if you understand politics, tbh.

Corbyn did better than Blair's last election.

Current predictions are that he's not far off Blair's 2001 result.
Blairism is dead.

Is there any reason for the DUP surge? I thought they would perform weakly, seeing their lackluster results in the NI assembly election.

Seems like the one bit of good news for Tory is the DUP surge in NI.....

And the SF surge in NI

Any wonders?

Ireland both North and South, has been screwed over by Brexit....

The SDLP went down hardcore, and the march towards a Free Ireland, including the Six Counties of the North, moves forward....

The Irish have been screwed over for centuries, and now there is a real chance that the various Northern Irish, Welsh, and Scottish political parties could actually have a real voice after centuries of English Occupations of respective ethnic minorities long considered part of the "UK"

-The fact that an election that's supposed to be a sort of victory for Labour might end up with the UK having Boris Johnson as the next prime minister is glorious.

They're gonna put in that overcooked burrito and Labour's gonna win a majority in six months.

Poll : whose election was a worse decision, May's snap election or Cameron's referendum?

I don't think that's strange at all.

I thought he would be too far left. The narrative tended to be that Corbyn was too extreme to win back voters who would be drawn to May's Brexit stances. Turns out May was a terrible candidate and somehow Corbyn wasn't too far left for the British rust belt voters. I've always been a proponent of "Bernie would have won", but I thought Corbyn was too radical.

I wonder if the Davidson affect will allow the Tories to take both Argyll and Bute and North East Fife.

The first was worse for her party's electoral success, the second was worse for the world.

I mean it's a similar backlash against inequality and unfettered globalization, but Corbyn has made statements in favor of Hamas and Hezbollah. I saw him as far too extreme.

Did the UKIP run on Zionist libertarian war hawkery? I don't get the confusion.

Will there ever be a leftist unionist party ever formed to compete in NI?

Labour 242
SNP 33

Alliance is the closet thing, and they're closer to the Lib Dems than anything. Unionism and leftism are kind of incompatible.

I think this might be an error on Sky News. The Lib Dems have never won that seat before and were way behind in third in 2015. Would be very bizarre.
