I know that most people in the United States do not know who their senators and congressperson are, but this is still an interesting question to ask. How often do members of Congress get recognized in public in their own state or when they are in another state while vacationing or because of airline layover? I wonder if, say Kamala Harris gets recognized while at DCA in Arlington, VA or Scott Taylor if he has to make a transfer at BWI in Baltimore.

I wouldn't be able to recognize my congressman. I know his name, but I can't recall ever seeing a picture of him.

Is it Leonard Lance or Tom MacArthur per chance?

Leonard Lance sounds like the name of a superhero who works with Tony Stark.

No, but Leonard Lance is a cool name, so now I wish he was my congressman.

I'm not gonna lie, it took me a moment. I really need a photo directory or something...

I was able to recognize Kamala Harris in Oakland, and I would probably be able to recognize Mimi Walters (my rep), but I probably wouldn't approach her because I wouldn't be 100% sure. Even when I saw Harris, it took me a while to walk up to her because even then I wasn't 100% sure.

She has probably gained some recognizability after the Comey hearing.

I remember when I was stationed on an aircraft carrier and we had a congressional delegation onboard. There were four congressmen and I actually recognized one of them, Mike Quigley, because he won a special election to replace Rahm Emanuel. I did get to meet them.
