Any Trump Democrats out there?

Anyone vote Trump and predominantly Democratic downballot? I'm sure there were plenty of Clinton Republicans, by this standard.

Personally, I voted Gary Johnson, but voted the rest of my ballot according to Right to Life of Michigan (which endorsed a Democrat for County Commissioner in addition to several Republicans) (even though I support abortion rights).

The only one on this forum may be Farmers Sprouts Market (O-PA). At least he's a Trump supporter who spoke in favor of some Democratic politicans.

I'm a Trump Democrat. I voted for (but did not support) Bernie in the primary and supported Trump. I still support downballot Democrats.

Trump Democrats are essentially fake Democrats or DINOs, because almost everything Trump says or does is not what the vast vast majority of Democrats believe in. Not in 2017.

Maybe not California Democrats. Trump Democrats are real in the Rust Belt.

Why don't you stop being a RINO and actually vote in the Republican primary, huh?

He endorsed Jon Ossoff and Ralph Northam... pretty sure he has no interest in the vile party that is the GOP.

I arguably contribute to the vileness.

I only voted in the Dem primary because I had a friend running for local office as a Dem and I knew Trump had it in Alabama

In my area, a local elected Democrat switched parties to vote for Trump in the primary and announced it at a Trump rally. Hugely popular guy too, encouraged all the conservadems to flip and vote Trump in our area, which had record R turnout.

I get the sentiment that the "old Southern Democrats" were appealing, and I get the sentiment that a conservative Republican would get annoyed with more moderate Republicans ... what I do not get, and will never accept as a logical viewpoint, is people who espouse both.

Just shows how far left the Democratic Party has moved. It's no longer the party of FDR, Truman, JFK, or even Bill Clinton. It is now a quasi-socialist party that embraces open borders, wants to reward illegal aliens with numerous government benefits, wants hundreds of thousands of refugees from third world countries to come in, pro-Islam, abortion without restrictions and government funded, high taxes, taking money from the successful to give handouts.

Hold your horses there, sonny. I don't support open borders, and I don't know any Democrat who does. I would be fine with the Bill Clinton status quo with regard to immigration. I'm not pro-Islam, don't support letting in Syrian refugees, and I support the Hyde Amendment as well as reasonable regulations on abortion. I don't support raising taxes on the middle class, the one thing that's true in there is I do support a higher top marginal tax rate. But that's only because the wealthiest have gotten a higher share of GDP than they did under FDR, Truman, JFK, or even Bill Clinton, and rates were higher under all of them as well.

Voted for Trump (regrettably) for the most part on the issues of trade and his attention to job losses and the declining plight of rural Americans but voted straight Democrat downballot. I certainly bought some snake oil and feel dupped.

The Obama-Trump voters were mostly white independents. Amusingly, a large chunk of actual registered Democrats who backed Trump in 2016 were black.

You'll continue to be duped as long as you remain committed to a producerist-populist ideology of cultural collectivism.

In the case of Oregon, there are many downstate, without even going into personal anecdotes and stories.

All of the counties in Yellow saw HRC lose votes compared to total Democratic Voters in 11/16. This doesn't even include the huge switch in Party affiliation that occurred prior, and potentially a few number of Registered Republicans that voted Dem.

The counties in Dark Blue also likely experienced a huge number of registered Democrats that voted Trump, unless Non-Affiliated-Voters went overwhelmingly Trump.

I can pull up various swings in different communities in downstate Oregon, that traditionally have voted heavily Democratic at the Presidential Level...

The reality is that there are many places in America with a strong number of ancestral Democrats, that voted for Trump feeling abandoned by both political parties, and these will be the first places to swing back if Trump doesn't deliver results for our suffering communities downstate.
