Trump will be making a statement at 11:30 EST.

Let's hope he doesn't politicize this.

Absolutely. This kind of thing should be punished with the greatest permissible severity.

Rep Chris Collins (R-NY) offered his thoughts and prayers to the victims of today's shooting and politely requested that people refrain from politicizing this tragedy.

Wait, no, he didn't.

The thing is, yes, escalated political rhetoric, dehumanizing your opponents, threatening them with violence is a problem and can lead to attacks like this. But will Collins draw any connection at all with other events of the last 18 months?

Since the shtfest is done here, yeah, this man needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.  There's not much more to say than that.

I think the strategy is pretty clear here. Republicans are going to point their fingers at the Democrats, politicize this tragedy to the fullest extent, and probably use this tragedy to avoid meeting with their constituents in the future.

This country is too far polarized to handle something like this maturely and properly.

Bernie has never promoted violence or armed resistance or "second amendment remedies". He has focused on mobilizing voters in elections, although he's certainly demonized his opponents to do it.

If that's your view, than Trump is responsible for the stabbing in Portland.

Get out of here with that nonsense.

Hmm...I wonder why he didn't make this sort of formal statement when the Muslim man in Portland died.

"Look if only people didn't get so passionate and upset whenever we try to do things like take their health insurance, things like this wouldn't happen. I hope the Democrats learn from this incidents and tone down the rhetoric to a respectable pathetic whimper." - Chris Collins and every other MAGA chud.
