absolutely. Imagine someone encouraged second amendment people to take care of political opponents. That would be disastrous in a democracy. Imagine a political candidate encouraged dissenters to be violently tossed from their "rallies"! That would be a gross violation of the freedom of the people. Imagine one chanted "Lock Her Up" about a political opponent! Thank God we live in a free country where the good people wouldn't stand for such actions.

He said mean things so lets shoot them guyz!!!1!!!

Jesus Christ dude.

He's saying that politicians advocating violence against their opponents is horrible. And he's right, it is.

This is especially responsive to those on the right saying "they need to tone it down on the left, because when Bernie advocates 'a revolution,' this is what happens." No sane person perceives "revolution" as one where blood is to be spilled, and trump has said way more violent things than "we need a revolution." So don't come here with garbage that blames Bernie's language.

Crazy nutcase was a crazy nutcase and we should just be glad that no victim died.

One could make the same argument with the right wing rhetoric. The fact remains that nothing that could even be perceived as violent rhetoric should be coming from anybody running for office, regardless of what side they're on.

Let's not make a false equivalency though. Calls for revolution - a core idea of American politics going back to the Founders, and not directly associated with violence for a century or more - are very different from open calls for using firearms to murder public officials. And only one party has its elected representatives doing the latter.

There's no false equivalency here at all--the nation was founded on violent revolution, so if you're going to use the argument of this is what the country was founded on, then you're essentially condoning the violence itself as well.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/revolution

Claiming that 'revolution' and 'shoot some politicians' are equivalent statements is either your own ignorance showing, or deliberately arguing in bad faith.

I picked a hell of a day to join. Speaking from the home state of the 2011 Tucson shooting, I wish Hodgkinson's victims a full recovery.

It seems odd that the primary victim of this apparently random "I'm going to find some Republican Congressmen and shoot them" attack was Steve Scalise, one of the most powerful and divisive Republicans in Congress.
How is Steve Scalise divisive?

The "David Duke without the baggage" comment was unfortunate, but it's taken out of context to imply that he shares David Duke's white separatist views but doesn't have the KKK baggage. He meant that he shares much of David Duke's policy agenda (not ideology) from his 90s campaigns, which have become mainstream in the GOP post-Duke.

Scalise wasn't even the only guy shot at. Of course the left has been inciting violence as they usually do when they lose elections.

Shut up, krazen. Someone was shot and you are doing your usually garbage act. SHUT UP.

This is a far-fetched bumbling comparison (related matter).
But coming from trump jr .... I guess I'm not surprised.
Anyway, if you're interested, the link to the story is above.
