I voted for Bush IRL, but in retrospect I wish I had voted for Gore: (1) I would not have voted for a PV loser who nevertheless became President; (2) I feel some of Gore's ideas (on driving while Black, for instance) were worthwhile; (3) I feel Gore was a lot smarter.

(For whatever reason I feel no regret whatsoever about voting to re-elect Bush in 2004).

Well.... what about you? Remember, no one yet knows about the FL debacle, hanging chads, divining voter intent, the PV != EV, ....  or, of course, the 9/11 attacks.

I am pretty sure I voted for Nader but can't remember exactly since I do remember voting for Harry Browne one time and Nader 1 time not twice.

'92 - Bush Sr.
'96 - Browne or did I miss this one?
'00 - Nader / Browne (?) or did I miss this one?
'04 - Nader
'08 - Obama
'12 - Johnson
'16 - Johnson

I was not very political when I was living in Japan from '96 to '03 and after coming back I was busy with just starting with work and raising my daughter who was born in '05. In fact I would say I was not very political even in 2012 - it wasn't until the NSA relevations that heated up in 2013 that I really became a libertarian.

If I had to do it again I would take Browne.

Browne. I would have liked Bush's style and Gore's social security lock box, but neither is a good fit for me personally.

Gore. Bush was easily the worst (well, as of 1/20/17, arguably second) President of the post war era.  Our Country and the world as a whole would be safer, more stable, and just overall much better off without a Bush/Cheney administration.

Gore. Intelligent pro-choice environmentalist > incompetant theocratic oil crony. Compare Gore's nomination acceptance speech (goes through his policy plans) to Dubya's ("support our troops", "restore honor and dignity to the White House", etc.)

I voted for Bush, but earlier in the year, I kept hoping that Orrin Hatch would be the GOP nominee.
About three weeks after I voted a straight Republican ticket, I heard in the news that Bush was going to ask federal courts for an injunction to stop the recounts, and he was going to argue, in the courts, that the methods of recounting ballots were violating the Equal Protection Clause. I tried to wrap my mind around which precedents, under the EP Clause, would be pertinent to the methods of counting ballots. There obviously weren't any. Bush's argument simply had no merit, in my opinion. He deserved to lose that argument, to be denied the injunction. I knew then that if Bush won the election, and he would be running for re-election in 2004, I would not vote for him again. So in retrospect, I regretted having voted for him.
I would have to take a closer look at the various other options on the ballot that year, but likely I would not have voted at all.
I didn't vote in 2004, 2008, or 2012.
