Inspiring remarks via video from President Trump, ending with three words that have brought so many Americans together for so many years, "Let's Play Ball!"

Republicans put up two in the first.  Ryan Costello and Chuck Fleischmann scored runs both on wild pitches.

He isn't playing (and didn't last year, despite the decisive Mar-Co-Rub-I-O chants against relief pitcher Patrick Murphy).

The Democrats scored 3 in the bottom of the first mostly on good hitting and lead 3-2.  Their star, Cedric Richmond, hit a little swinging bunt down the third base line that wound up being perfectly placed.

Ryan Costello has made a couple really good defensive plays today.  He just caught a line drive and doubled up the runner on first.  However, he did strike out with runners on the corners and two outs in the top of the inning.  Through two, the Democrats still lead 3-2.

It's always weird to me to see adults playing baseball who aren't professionals.  Seems that's why God invented slow pitch softball right?

And, a huge inning for the Democrats puts them up 7-2 through 3.  Remember that the GOP blew a 6-1 lead before rallying to win last year.

Rand Paul is caught stealing to end the Republican 4th.  The Dems still lead 7-2.  The GOP desperately needs to stop the Democrats here.

Following a triple to the warning track for Cedric Richmond, we have a pitching change for the Republicans.  Patrick Meehan is now in to pitch.

Ron Paul was a beast back in the 1970s and 1980s.

I guess I picked the right year to go last year (the one year since Obama was inaugurated that the GOP won)!

The official attendance was just 41 people shy of 25,000, which is easily a record (and well over halfway to a sellout).

Dems now lead the all-time series 40-39-1.
