Has Article I Section 4 of the Constitution:
"The right of citizens of the Republic of Atlasia to vote shall not be denied, except in regards to persons whose account is fewer than 168 hours old, or in consequence of failing to meet such requirements for activity as may be established by law."
Been changed repealed or anything?

I seem to remember there were debates about this in the congress. I'm asking you this question because I need to know if anything has changed regarding this or the wiki has simply not been updated.

Thanks in advance,
WJ

Yeah, I introduced a constitutional amendment to address this months ago, but it's still stuck in Congress.

Bullsh**t!

The Federalist Majority House, passed it back in April:
Vote on Final House Passage of the Voting Rights Amendment:

Aye (9): Drew, Enduro, Heisenberg, NC Yankee, OneJ_, Peebs, Potus, Simossad (technically too late), and Ted
Nay (0):
Abstain (0):

Didn't vote (0):

The Resolution has passed the House and is sent to the Senate/VP.

Which Peebs should know, since that was back when she still voted regularly.

Tell your Laborite friends to get off their asses in the Senate. Tongue

Actually, I see now, they amended Truman's original text at the beginning of June, removing the prohibition on the ban on campaigning in the voting booth, against the advice of myself and Truman if memory serves me.

So better yet, tell them to stop obstructing Truman's flawlessly beautiful texts. Tongue

The constitution mandates that the President of Congress administers returning amended bills and there is a bunch of Senate bills that need to come before the House.

There is however nothing that mandates a certain order so the best I can do is have Goldwater bring it up in the next House VP administered slot that comes open.

Because Scott, 20RP12 and Siren voted to remove the line that banned campaigning in the voting booth from the above amendment, despite my warnings not to. Tongue

Otherwise this would probably be passing ratification this weekend or last weekend.

It would be ironic if this amendment were to be adopted without objection and the underlying result is that the underlying Amendment returns to the House and gets killed there just like the previous one got killed in the Senate. Tongue

Which made no sense because the basis for said amendment to the amendment was that "it had previously been done", which I established it had not been.

And I warned of the Consequences of taking said action in terms of delay and potential failure, and yet it is Yankee and the Federalists fault for delaying this? Tongue

I know this might be a little off topic, but am I reading it right. People are allowed to campaign in the voting booths?

well there is a toothless statute on the matter, but the court ruled it violated the constitution's right to vote provision.

Truman's original text of the Voting Rights Amendment had that in it, but it was voted out by 3 Senators (Scott, R2D2 and Siren) because "it had already been done previously". And even though I previously pointed out that it hadn't, the amendment was still adopted.

Well, I don't understand why you would remove the text out? Should people be able to go vote without having people try to push them toward on candidate or campaigning. Maybe I am missing something here because I am new and don't full know things yet, but It seems kinda dumb to not to do everything you can to make the voting booths a place where people can go without being push or pressed into voting one way of the other.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. For the record, I am hereby reserving the right to say "I told you so" when this inevitably becomes a problem.

I agree on the principle of no campaigning in the voting booth, however I am ok with the removal of this part by the Senate. I fear there could be different views of what constitutes campaining. There should a list of what is not acceptable. People could start to ask for votes not being counted for little gestures. If campaigning is anything positive or negative about a candidate, is an emoticon with a thumbs up beside a name campaining. Is ranking a candidate after a write in vote for lucifer a negative campaign or ranking someone 999 when there are 5 candidates. It could lead to arbitrary situations.

I fear there could be different views of what constitutes campaining.
...which is why my original proposal included this definition:

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

For the record, this does not include hypothetical write-in votes for Lucifer or emoticons, as a "statement" is defined as a grammatical unit containing both a subject and a verb. It would also have left valid the traditional write-in favorite, "All of these candidates are great/are terrible," as such applies to the entire slate, as opposed to a particular candidate.
