Democratic-Republican is a historically inaccurate title for the party of Jefferson. The Democratic-Republicans were the faction of the party headed up by Andrew Jackson after the 1824 election.

that is incorrect. Jefferson started the Democratic-Republicans, while Jackson started The Democrats.

No, you are incorrect. Jackson started the Democratic-Republicans, which then evolved into the Democrats.

A18 is correct; the term "Democrat-Republican" was not used until Jackson's time. It's an historical anarchronism.
