I love how whenever Republicans that claim they oppose Islam yet love these two, who are trying to shove more Islam into the Iraqi constitution. But of course I must vote option 3.

I assume you're not talking about me.  I've always defended the Muslims when they are lumped toogether as radicals.

For the most part no. Rather those that accuse the left of extreme political correctness in defense of Islam and constantly saying it's a religion of peace, when it's actually those on the right, especially Bush, who do that the most. Can you name any leftist politician who has done more kissing up to Islamic leaders or given it more lip service than Bush?

StatesRights, dazzleman and those who say the left is always "politically correct" (as I have never heard politically correct defined as supporting Islam) and kissing up to Muslims when Bush does that more than anyone else.

I neither like, nor strongly dislike, al-Sistani. He seems like a typical bearded Arab strongman. As long as he is *sympathetic* with US interests in Iraq and the Middle East at large, I don't understand why we should make an enemy of him.

Same goes for the Saudis, unpopular a sentiment as that is. Sure, their family is scum, but they've been loyal scum since before the Coolidge administration. Seems rotten of us to try to overthow them only to see them replaced by Socialists or Islamists.

Yes, but are they saying they are oppose to Islam?  See, I can say I respect their culture/religion, and that it's not the violent culture/religion that the media makes it sound (it actually is a fairly peaceful culture/religion), but that doesn't mean I'm kissing up to them no being politically correct.  This is where i'm confused in the thread.

Well that's what they say. And their claims about the left is utter bullsh!t, since there isn't a single such leftist on the forum.

Thier tactic involves in telling others what they believe instead of actually debating what they believe.
