Land of corrupt guys who beat David Duke, geeky Indian-American Republicans with doomed presidential campaigns and flawless beautiful John Bel Edwards.

Edwin Edwards should be winning every vote for the worst. When the best argument for electing a governor is "he's a known criminal, but at least he's not a Klansman" you have a very very easy argument for worst governor.

1. John Bel Edwards
2. Kathleen Blanco
3. Bobby Jindal
4. Mike Foster
5. Edwin Edwards Part III

I ranked the top three ideologically, and the last two in order of least to most corrupt.

Foster's semi-support for David Duke is almost as awful as Edwards' blatant corruption. If he hadn't appointed quite a few minority Cabinet members(I believe a record number at the time, including Terry Landry and Bobby Jindal), I would have ranked him below Edwards for racism.

Wow, this really is the bottom of the barrel.

John Bel Edwards has done a good job.

Jindal and Blanco were incompetent. Edwin Edwards was corrupt.

Mike Foster's tenure seems to have been fairly forgettable but uncontroversial.

Best: John Bel Edwards
Worst: Bobby Jindal

Ex-Klansman.

Why does it matter? He's still a bigot and a massive antisemite. David Duke has always been garbage and will always be garbage.

I was pointing out that in the early 90s, during his Senate and gubernatorial campaigns, he portrayed himself as a reformed person who disavowed his KKK past and no longer believed in white separatistism. Many people in Louisiana, being Christians who believed that people could change and reform themselves, voted for him believing him to be a different man than he was during his days in the Klan. As years went by, his behavior showed that he didn't really change, but I think it's important to say that it was not unreasonable at the time to believe that David Duke was a reformed man during his 1990 and 1991 campaigns.

Foster was a Buchananite who wanted to endorsed David Duke, flip flopped on gambling, repealed the law about motorcyclists having to wear helmets, and was close to the special interests of LABI.

I have a soft spot for both the Edwards, though John Bel Edwards has the advantage of not being crook. I would say Jindal's the worst, mostly because I don't know much about Foster or Blanco.

Ugh, missed this.

JBE for best.

I don't get all the hate for EWE. He was very popular in his first two terms a did a lot then. He also made a point of promoting blacks in state government. Yes, he had his flaws, but on the whole, I think he gets a bum rap.

Worst is easily Jindal.

He was a criminal.

It is interesting though that Atlas manages to hate Edwin Edwards while whitewashing people like Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton, though.
