Mitt Romney won in 2012, and was re-elected in 2016. What are some differences in the past four years of American politics, who did the Democrats nominate last year, and how did the election go? What is the general mood of the country, and how does it differ from what's going on IRL?

That's one of my questions in the post. The immediate answer would be Hillary Clinton, but that's certainly not definite, especially if she's known as State Sec for a one-term president.
