Members have 72 hours to commence advocacy for or against this, offer comments and questions etc.

Members will also have as long to step forward with a volunteer to assume House sponsorship.

This is a senate originated bill that is being up in a normal house slot to help clear the backlog.

Does this mean that if a group sponsors terrorism on the side, with money form Saudi Oil Barrons we are mandated to keep funding their healthcare clinics?

According to the bill's provisions that I am generally in line with, I believe that the best course is to support this bill.

Perhaps it is a little late to note that if you have more than 2 bills sponsored on the floor any new bill you introduce will be held back until such is no longer the case. It is called the anti-clogging rule.

anyway, Representatives have 48 hours to object.

Presently not a problem since we have no bills in the queue. Wink

As I said prior to taking sponsorship, this bill makes a lot of sense to vote YES on it.

Anyone with amendments or comments prior to a call for a final vote?

This bill still seems like a sort of reaction to when I signed the Mexico City Policy into an EO, I still don't fully understand if Mexico City Policy would stand under such a law.

The notion that this bill allows for the funding of terrorist groups strikes me as an extremely broad interpretation of the text, but if the House sees that this is need for concern, I would recommend striking section 2.

Since at least a few colleagues has expressed unease to Section 2 of this bill, I recommend that Section 2 be stricken from this law.
