I need a new hobby. I just feel really upset inside and I dreaded paying attention to this today because I just had a deep guttural anticipation that Ossoff was going to lose. I have no reason to feel anything but pessimistic about the future.

I knew something like this was coming. Republicans gerrymander. Everyone does. Not one gives a s*** about fairness when you can give your party control of the country.

The Democrat party gerrymandered us from the 1960s thru 1994 and they are squealing when we retaliate.

You might gain some that way, but you might also lose some.  I know some GA-6 voters who were attracted by his attempt to run a civil campaign, especially after all the negativity last year.

And we see how much that counted for.

It's time for Democrats to embrace GOP-style tactics of personal destruction. Stop being a bunch of pussies and do what it takes to win. The Obama 2012 campaign was a step in the right direction.
Yes Democrats need to go full Fox news in 2018. Make stuff up about the canidate in an ad and give a low profile apology.

Did you know the Scalise shooting was orchestrated by Handel to win this special election? LOCK HER UP!!

Wait, so did Handel improve upon Trump's margin?

yeah but that comparison was BS to start with, since price won by a landslide at the same time.

But Price was the incumbent.  I  still agree this is a slightly positive night for Dems despite two near misses.

question would be, if there are enough seats in the US, even closer than GA6 in times of trump and likely to fall to change the house.

Damn, I really hoped Ossoff would've pulled it off.

Just to give the Republicans a spook.

Ossoff was plastered with "Pelosi" while Parnell campaigned alongside Ryan. One candidate outdid expectations. One underwhelmed.

New Jersey State Senate elections, 2013.

The GOP gets 51% of the vote and 40% of the seats.
The Dems get 49% of the vote and 60% of the seats.

Hmm?

I still thought it was fun (not in a sarcastic floaty way). Everyone here is amazing with analysis on election nights.

If Republicans do go through with full repeal, they will absolutely pay. No amount of screaming about Pelosi will help when people start literally dying because of the changes they've implemented. They're still riding on the shock that was November and this result will only add to their confidence and legitimize (in their eyes) the idea that they are immune to consequences. Misguided, obviously. You're always invulnerable - until you're not.

The shooting happened in DC.
Handel was born in DC.
Any questions?

Every single special election should still give GOP a spook. If this is the same strategy, then 2018 is looking bad

50 million.

50 MILLION.

Ahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahha!

For weeks this far left echo chamber declared GA6 the be all and end all bellwether of Trump.

This was the start of the blue wave (TM). GA6 was going to usher in a 50 seat Rat majority.

That was after Kansas was the bellwether (till it wasn't)
Then Montana (till it wasn't)

Now Georgia.

Let me guess.... Narrative flips again?Huh??

There was an article from the 1980 how the Dems gerrymandering saved them from losing the house

Can we stop this stupid "Pelosi" meme? Even veteran GOP strategists have said that the Pelosi attack angle has produced ZERO proof of improving GOP vote-share in elections like these. There's virtually nobody who's going to bother voting in a mid-term or special election who both a) doesn't know who Pelosi is and b) suddenly hear about her and go "oh, now I have to vote". Think logically.
