Calling it now:

Ossoff loses because nothing ever goes my way.

I will also take this time to note that Jon Ossoff's fundraising emails are THE WORST and whoever is in charge of writing them should never have a job on any Democratic campaign again.

They are all like this.

Sadly, those types of e-mails work. You're in the minority of people who don't take them seriously.

7pm Eastern, except for two precincts that will be open until 7:30 due to technical issues this morning.

What does that mean for when the first results come in? 7:00 or 7:30?

We don't usually get results immediately when the polls close.  I'd guess 7:45 at the earliest.

Knowing GA, we probably won't get them till 9:45 lol.

Why does everyone pronounce it "DeKab" even though it's Dekalb?

lol cnn says it would be a stunning surprise if ossoff wins.

It will be.

The common line on thinking before this race became nationalized was that Democrats had no chance in GA-6. The DCCC was reluctant to even put money into this race before it got so popular.

It's a trump plus 1 district.

And you lied about dems. This was nationalized race from the start.

Let's ignore the entire history of GA-6 lol. It's been a ruby-red district for years, and hasn't elected a Democrat since the 70's.

Still, an Ossoff win wouldn't be an upset.

I guess that depends on what your definition of "upset" is.

First votes coming in:

Karen Handel (Republican)    56.3%   9
Jon Ossoff (Democratic)    43.8%   7

Let's call it for Handel now! /s

We're doomed.

PARNELL LEADS IN SOUTH CAROLINA

HE DID IT, HE FLIPPED THE DISTRICT!

It'll be funny if Ossoff loses and Parnell wins.

Even if those numbers aren't great for Ossoff, it's a little early to be engraving his tombstone, no?

Never too early. I was engraving Ossoff's tombstone before the EV even started pouring in.

What happened to all of the illegal voters that Ossoff was bussing in? Could they tip the election to him?

Ossoff probably wasn't the best candidate Dems could've chosen.

Sigh, care to tell us which was the best candidate?

Let me guess we should just run bernie-esque candidates across the board regardless of social/demographic profile?

That's not what I was thinking at all. Dems should have ran a candidate who isn't a 30 year old documentary filmmaker with no political experience.

Also, someone who lives in the district.

Have the mail votes been counted at all? Cause those could conceivably push Ossoff into the lead.

Yes

There's no way Parnell wins, it'd be absurd.
