Thatcher and Blair both have their own 'isms' so have to rank above the rest on that alone. My ratings would be as follows:

Thatcher - 7/10
Blair - 7/10 (peaking at 9/10 in the immediate aftermath of Diana's death)
Cameron - 5/10 (became very Stephen Harper-esque during his actual premiership)
Brown - 4/10 (his reasonable oratorical abilities bump him up a bit)
Major - 4/10
May - 2/10

The women take both spots.

Brown was at the bottom, but this last election finally made him look good.

Blair/Major

May might be even worse, but I don't want to overreact based on one election campaign. Two months ago people talked about what a great genius politician she was.

She already had the charisma of a toasted worm prior to the campaign. Winning elections doesn't = charisma. John Howard managed to win four after all.

Well, perhaps. But who's the competition? John Major.

His 'soapbox touring' has been cited as a reason why the Tories held on in 1992. Plus he was at least personable in public.

Was the success of the soapbox tours something that is that connected to his charisma levels though? Wasn't Kinnock not that great either in the charisma department?
