The most disturbing part of that meme is elmo's facial expression more so than the explosion in the background.

Given Trump's history, I find it quite likely that he could be guilty of something similar, but unrelated - like Russian money laundering around 10 years ago.

This would be a reasonable defense had he first asked if he could ask and tgen didn't ask. If he didn't know and claimed not to, he wouldn't have scienter. As CiC, this "request" has tve appearance of Trump having scienter.
