According to Wikipedia, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush was speculated to run against Bill Nelson in 2012, but he declined, which mighty have ensured Nelson's victory in 2012 despite the fact that Barack Obama narrowly won Florida over Mitt Romney by less than 1 percentage point.

So here is the following question : could Jeb Bush have defeated Nelson of he ran in 2012?

He certainly would have had a better shot than Connie Mack IV, but I think Nelson could have run on Bush fatigue and cast Jeb! as a guy who wants to serve in the Senate for like 2 years and then ditch it to run a presidential campaign the way Rubio did from 2015-2016. Therefore, I believe the odds would have still been against our boy Jeb!.
