People here tend to have a very broad view on politics but perhaps with all the connections with Europe Americans and Canadians here are looking at Europe. Likewise, Europeans mostly looking at the US news and also Canada. But are you different? Are you a US resident more interested in the news of Russia, Ukraine, and so forth than Western Europe - maybe because of your family background or some other experience in your life, your academic study, or work? Or if you served in the military and were stationed abroad in Afghanistan or Iraq perhaps you focus a lot on Middle East news.

For me I guess I would have to say East Asia is second to N. America - in that I lived in Japan, work for a South Korean company and have worked with many people from Taiwan, China, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia. I can't call myself well-studied on the politics of the region - even Japan where I lived though I definitely do read more economic & business news from this region than from Europe for instance.

Perhaps after that then I would have to say S. America and Europe are about on equal footing. Sub Saharan Africa, Russia and Former Soviet Republics, and Middle East are in the next tier. Then North Africa, South Asia, Central America, Oceania in the lowest tier.

For regions as a whole, I guess Europe.  But if I could pick an individual country besides the US whose politics I know the best, it'd be Australia, since I used to live there.  Though "know the best" isn't the same as "currently follow".  I guess I'm paying more attention to what's happening in the UK right now than I am events in Australia.

I chose the former Soviet republics, as that is where I focusedmost of my work on my senior year, but nowhere do I particularly follow news.

What is "ftfr"?  Maybe "fixed that for reasons"?  Also, I've never been to Austria, but I think I flew over it when I flew from London to Tel Aviv.  And I allegedly have some ancestors from there, as the parents of one of my great grandmothers immigrated from Vienna, so 1/8th of my DNA is suitable for doing battle with Krampus, and Tender is probably my distant cousin.

Other then the US the country's politics I follow most is UK and that is just a little bit .

So in reality  the US is the only country I really follow politics in , for the rest this is how much I follow it,

UK - basic stuff

Canada - essiently what ever my friend who lives in Canada tells me

India - whatever my dad tells me

Austria first of course, then Germany, then the US, then various other European countries, followed by some other randomly important countries such as Russia, India, Canada, Australia, etc.

That's not why my dad hates trump my dad hates trump because of how stupid he is , how bad of a person he is , and how much in the gutter he is willing to take political dialogue.

no my dad wouldn't say the 2nd thing at all , he says India has a long way to go before it even comes close to matching the UK let alone the US .

And the first thing is kinda true she did nationalize many of the banks and move India in a more socialist direction . He still likes Indira Gandhi more then Rahul,  Corbyn and Bernie .

The Middle East, easily.

Israel, the Palestinians, Turkey, Iran, Saudis, Qatar, Yemen, Syria, ISIS, plight of Christians/Yazidis, Iraqi Kurdistan, Egypt...all places I have some level of interest in discussing, debating, researching.

I don't really care about UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain or Oman. They are just kind of there in my mind.

I also follow many European countries politics, and a lot of other countries in other regions as well.

... If you seriously believe Indira Gandhi is a Marxist-Leninist, then you're rather ill-informed.

- Colombia (again, not as much as others on this list)
- Venezuela

My home country is America, thus I follow American politics. Otherwise I follow European politics very closely followed by Russian politics, and then to a lesser extent Middle Eastern politics.

As a region, Europe.

As to specific countries, I'd probably have to list the UK, France, Canada, and Australia as the ones I follow the closest. I will, from time to time, check in on Ireland, Spain, Japan, Israel, and South Korea.

UK. Not really intentional; it's just easier for me to find info about it for various reasons.
