Say Sanders spectacularly upsets and wins Dem nomination.  How would a Trump vs Sanders election would have played out?

With a strong populist message, Sanders appears to be coasting to a decisive victory. Then, on October 28, McCain/Romney max donor James Comey announces Sanders and his wife have been under FBI investigation since January. After the ensuing media firestorm, Trump narrowly wins the Electoral College, and Sanders concedes defeat. Debbie Wasserman Schultz bitterly laments that Hillary would surely have won.

Say Sanders spectacularly upsets and wins Dem nomination.  How would a Trump vs Sanders election would have played out?
The GOP hits him on his many, many flaws. He drops in polling. Johnson rises, but ultimately underperforms in the debates, and ends up with less than 12% of the vote.

Trump: 399, 49.7%
Sanders: 139, 37.5%
Johnson: 0, 11.5%
Other: 1.3%

You honestly see Trump winning NJ if  he ran against Sanders?

Same map as 2016 except Sanders loses Nevada.

Sanders outperforms Clinton in NH.

Yep, and so did the vast majority of welfare bums.  I am also still very much a Republican, and that will never change.

I'm confident Sanders would have won by holding most of the Rust Belt together.
