I have been listening to Al Franken speaking on different TV programs and on the Senate floor, and to me it seems like he is losing his wit. He speaks slowly, pauses often, says "uhhh" a lot... And he isn't as funny as he used to be.

Could that indicate that he is getting too old to run in 2020? Given that he'll rely greatly on his charisma, this can either kill his campaign or convince him not to run.

Just listen to him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bK49ZZlu2i8

His sharpness of mind has taken a hit, imho.

Why would anyone rank Franken as their first or second or third or fourth choice for President?

He doesn't appeal to any disaffected Democratic groups; he doesn't have any crossover appeal to any Republican constituency; he's too far left to vie for corporate affections; he isn't far left enough to interest the Sanders movement. He's the Obama coalition version of Claire McCaskill, who is the Clintonite version of Franken.
