2020

Republicans re-nominate President Donald Trump for President and Vice President Mike Pence for Vice President.

Democrats nominate actor Johnny Depp for President and comedian Kathy Griffin for Vice President.

Please discuss.

Use a map if you wish.

(I have moved this from International What-ifs to Election what-ifs where it actually belongs)

Pres. Donald Trump/V.P. Mike Pence: 427 E. Votes, 53.4%
Mr. Johnny Depp/Mrs. Kathy Griffin: 106 Electoral Votes, 39.9%
Fmr. Gov Gary Johnson/Fmr. Rep. Kerry Bentvolio: 5.6%

Several key democrats refuse to support Depp due to fear of being tied to his "assassination comments" which he called for on the trail, becoming the Democratic version of a much Trump, just a lot more unhinged. The American public are outraged by Depp's continued comments, and Trump goes for the jugular. In response, in July, Kathy Griffin is selected as Depp's running mate. The conventions' keynote speaker is (I forgot the old actress who criticized Trump's name like sorry) and only people such as Jerry Springer, Eric Holder, and Alan Grayson speak at the convention. Gary Johnson decided to run again, although originally opposed, in order to save the country. In some states, Adam Kinzinger, Ben Sasse, and Ron Paul were listed as running mates due to ballot laws and local party problems. Johnson polled high enough to be at the first debate, Johnson and Trump seemed intelligent, while Depp was rambling. Angered, Depp threatened to fight Trump on stage. To which Trump replied: "go for it bud." And Depp lunged towards the president as Gary Johnson and the Secret Service jumped in to defend him. This was the state of U.S politics. Johnson and Trump continued to debate that night, and Johnson and Trump made a mockery out of Depp. No more debates were held. Depp clawed his way back in the last weeks and apologized to Trump for his acts. Gary Johnson made a public statement saying he could no longer campaign due to a injury he had sustained in 2003. When election night come, the map was all Red (or blue in Atlas terms) for Trump. The reason Depp won states was due to Johnson's prescense. Johnson won his home state, (he was originally polling in the lead in CO, AK, WY, MT, NH, ME, VT, OR, and WA) but gave a speech almost favoring Trump... Stopping just short of endorsing him, but urging his supporters to support Trump over Depp). Johnson was promised a role as Secretary of Energy, and a nationwide Marijuana legalization referendum passed in 2022 due to Johnson's efforts. As for Depp and Griffin, they continued making threats against Trump despite "conceding" (violent speech urging violence in the streets but acknowledging Trump won, but little happened). Depp was arrested in 2023. Griffin committed suicide days before Trump's second term ended.

Can the mods move this to Alternative elections, the sub-board where this stuff actually belongs?

The main board is for timelines.

Naturally.
