You would think even if he intended to ultimately tell them to go screw themselves, he would have at least given them the courtesy of a meeting.

One of the first things anyone learns in politics is that gratitude is not a virtue.

One of the first things anyone learns in politics is that gratitude is not a virtue.

That's sure a sick philosophy. It doesn't matter in what arena gratitude is expressed, it is an energetic vibration that goes a long long way toward making this world a better place to live inside. It also makes one's personal life filled with goodness when one is grateful for their blessings.

This crop of old politicians need to head out to pasture. I think their ideals and personal practices are not in sync with the modern times. Neither are they in sync with creating a viable planet to live on.

That would require Kentuckians actually caring about their futures, rather than muh culture war.

That will happen with the failure of the Trump presidency and when Obama is forgotten. Democrats can nominate a cultural conservative for the sake of defeating Mitch.

And if he had, it would be framed as "providing special attention to an interest group from which he financially benefited."

Calling McConnell a turtle is insulting.  Turtles aren't that bad.

Oh come on. This is hardly a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" moment.

Well, except for machine politics. Then everything is about gratitude to the right people.

Sadly Mitch will be 80 by then and the average life expectancy of a turtle is 100

100? I think you are overtly opimistic.
