Depends. The more values oriented culture warrior types tend to be baby boomers stretching back to the formation of the New Left. The kind you see today online are more secular and not so much values based. They're the ones preaching a more civic minded reform (see their usage of the words "systemic" and "institutional" to describe sexism and racism). These are far more likely to be millennials.

The typical kind of SJW that we think of tends to be more of the latter so yes; those ones are generally millennials.

It was not a widely used term till a few years ago.

And before 2012 widespread civic protests had not been a major part of the culture.

The use of the term was coming to a fore as the intensity of protests increased both the BLM police shooting protests and the college campus ones.

Obviously many of the key actors are from the generation born between 1980 and 1999.

This is basically something that exists only on the internet and some silly liberal arts colleges that less than 1% of college students attend.
