I wanted to put a few questions in there that would ensure people who score 00-12 are highly likely to be Socialists/Social Democrats, rather than center-left/liberal types. Too often they are falsely conflated and I wanted to fix that.

I think the concepts behind your test are sound, but one important thing to consider if you plan on using it among mass audiences is the phenomenon of "acquiescence bias", ie people's propensity to agree with whatever reasonable-sounding statement is put before them. By having all the "agree" options correspond to the left end of the spectrum, this means that your test will probably overestimate left-wing sentiment. Scientific surveys usually cancel out this bias by having statements that go in either direction.

The only reason I constructed it this way is due to the reliance on self-scoring. If the scores could be automatically generated by a computer algorithm or through my own calculations, then I'd certainly pose the questions differently.

This is an objective fact and should have no correlation with political views. Really, there could be a third "well-informed vs. poorly-informed" axis with questions like that on it.

Also, despite being a Hillary and Macron fanboy, I came out at (10, 5), and I doubt either of those politicians would be significantly more to the Right, so the category labels may not be very accurate.
