Major FF. One of the few representatives who has appeal to all of Texas's major voting blocs, and perhaps the only Democratic representative from that state who can win it statewide. Possibly a bit too moderate for some, but definitely in tune with his constituency and the Democratic party as a whole on the issues. Probably the best candidate to run against Trump in a general election, had he a little more experience in harder to reach offices. Highly electable, not too extreme.

Bush had a few Democrats endorse him that year - Lt. Gov. Bob Bullock did, so did Ralph Hall (who later became a Republican).

How out of the ordinary was this? Did Reagan have any CA Democrats endorse him? Did any Arkansas Republicans endorse Clinton?

Not extremely familiar with him, but I checked out his On The Issues page.  He seems like a Democrat I could back.

Extremely useless. HP.

I could see having him in a conservative district or even a toss-up district but he's in a district that obviously should vote for someone far to Cuellar's left.
