Can we have until tomorrow night, Lumine? My updates probably won't be ready until then.

By the way, I have enjoyed playing this game with you all enormously, and cannot wait to see what the new House of Commons has in store for us all.

I'll be extending this until Tuesday night, gives me time to prepare for Election Night.

Gracias, my man.

Whatever happens, I can check "accidentally making an older, socialist version of Ted Cruz the Prime Minister" off my Atlas bucket list.

Despite the fact that I can win (at most) 18 seats, I'm waiting with very bated breath.

It will be interesting to see what deals are struck since it seems no party will have a majority

For non-UK players who haven't watched UK election nights there much more exciting because we have a tradition of sending Politicians into TV studios to talk after the exit poll, but before the actual results come out. (Exit Poll at 10, first results at 11, first heavy stream of results after 1, clear view at 2/3)

It basically leaves them trapped trying to spin results they just found out about, and results that could be wrong Tongue

The go-to lines being:

"This is only an exit poll, remember not a single vote has been counted."

"The only poll that matters will be the votes being counted right now."

"Just remember 1992..."

"The only poll that matters will be the votes being counted right now," a Labour spokesman shrieked as he clambered over the railing and flung himself into the Thames

I was toying with giving the results across a few days, but that seems a bit dull. I'm writing one or two big updates with the full results, and then I'll explain how we move from here.

Nice!

Only two regions left and then you get the full national results. Those will come in tomorrow. Then we'll move into government formation and the eventual passing of a Queen's Speech.

Once a government is in place, the gameplay will shift to "government mode".

Oh, it's just me being lazy, lol

Northern Ireland means I have to change the colours of each party rather than copy+paste, and Im very tired.

Traditionally, Norn Iron didn't even start counting until Friday, so shock returns usually came in late Friday afternoon as a new government was likely being formed.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Such great work all around. Ladies and gentlemen, congratulations to you for putting on a great show and fighting an epic election campaign. It has been an honor to host this so far. So the question must rise, where do we go from here?

Well, now we move into government formation. Once the resignation of Mr. McDonnell has been confirmed (a PM will be sent to him) Theresa May will be asked to form a goverment by the Queen. Barnes will have exactly a week to put a government together and present a Queen's Speech before Parliament (which just like the manifesto must contain at least six specific pledges). Party leaders will be asked to determine how their parties vote on the Queen's Speech, and if it passes then we move into the government phase.

So in the meantime and while negotiations are conducted, I'll have time to set up the new threads, craft the new rules, and work out how the game will work. There's two important things to note:

GM Team: I'll be recruiting two Deputy GM's for the game if anyone is interested. As Main GM I wish to focus on political and party matters, so I require a Deputy GM to handle economics and domestic events, and another Deputy GM to simulate foreign policy and the world. I plan to give the Deputy GM's significant autonomy, but I'll have the final word on events.

Players: Parties will face restrictions according to the number of seats won. The Lib Dems and the Conservatives must have at least three parties to be sustainable, without a cap. Labour will be limited to two players as the third party. All the other parties will have a single player. If people want to take on more than one character at a time I can allow it, and if we have enough players I can open up spots in the minor parties, but balance is the key thing here. There will be a new thread for sign ups, and the current party leaders will continue to lead their parties unless they resign.

Again, my sincerest thanks to Lumine for putting together such an enjoyable game.

As we move into the real challenge of governing, I would be thrilled to beef up the Tory benches. Please consider joining the Maybot. Grin
