I support this bill. I think it will be a boon to Southern democracy.

This bill doesn't *do* much, other than requiring the administrator to clarify what specific system is being used so that there is no confusion like what happened after the last chamber election.

I don't see any rationale for opposing this bill.

No actual issue with the bill, but I think that #3 doesn't really need to exist in the bill.

Motion to amend the bill striking the strikethrough text.

Electoral System Clarification Act
1. The Election Administrator or someone authorized to act in his or her place shall determine a fair form of instant runoff voting (STV).
2. He or she must include information on which system will be used in the ballot details in the voting booth.
3. A recommended calculator is Paul Lockett's STV webpage.

EDIT: Amended the amendment.

What is the purpose of even including it in the bill anyway?

Objecting to the amendment.

My question for why the recommendation is necessary to include in the bill was not answered, nor has anyone seconded the motion to amend.

I hereby call a vote on the amendment proposed by West_Midlander:

Delegates have 72 hours to vote (I was under the assumption before that votes were 48 hours, but after re-reading the rules that appears not to be the case.)

72 hours is the cap, not the standard.

The rules seem pretty clear about 72 hours. Of course if enough people vote by then, the vote can end early.

If there's no objections, I think we should move to a final vote.

Gonna wait another 24 hours or so to give Vern a chance to look over current legislation, then will bring this to a final vote.
